Kaziranga Receives 20 Rubber Boats to Counter Poaching Practices
In a move to better the surveillance and conservation practices at Kaziranga National Park, the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma handed over 20 inflatable rubber boats to the forest protection personnel. This comes as a preventive measure for poaching and encroaching attempts in the park.
During a review meeting regarding the safety measures in Kaziranga National Park in June, the forest protection force brought to his attention the need for new patrol boats to combat poaching and encroachment attempts. As such, the national park was handed over 20 inflatable rubber boats in less than 60 days time.
