Kaziranga National Park Shuts its Gates for Visitors for the Season

Kaziranga National Park, home to the famous one-horned rhinos has closed down on May 16th for the season due to the effect of rainfall in Assam. The effects of rainfall in the last one month have submerged the roads inside the park making it difficult for jeeps to go for safaris. Another major reason for the reserve to close for the season is due to the increase in temperature. Ideally, the safari season starts from November 1st and ends on the month of April 30th in Kaziranga but due to weather conditions the park will remain closed for the visitors from May 16th and is likely to reopen on October 1st 2017.
